patrick nugent

Pat was Valedictorian of his graduating class and received numerous awards and scholarships in law school. After graduation, Pat articled to Phyllis Smith, Q.C. at Emery Jamieson. Pat joined Chivers Carpenter in 2002 and since then has represented union and individual clients before a variety of administrative tribunals, at all level of courts in Alberta and in the Northwest Territories and at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Pat has taught labour arbitration in the law faculty at the University of Alberta with Ritu Khullar since 2004 and also previously taught constitutional law as a sessional lecturer. Pat has organized talks by others and has also presented at many seminars and conferences on a wide variety of topics, including video surveillance in the workplace, drug and alcohol testing and prisoner voting.

Pat enjoys sneaking out of the office for a mid-day run and spending time with his family.
