Allison Purdon
Allison received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor, both with Distinction, from the University of Alberta. Between these degrees, Allison worked for several Edmonton nonprofit organizations. During law school, Allison volunteered with the Women’s Law Forum and was involved with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre. She also received a number of academic awards, including the Judges’ Bronze Medal in Law and the Honourable Donald Lee Prize in Immigration.
After law school, Allison clerked at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Edmonton, before completing her articles and then practicing as an associate at a mid-sized law firm in Edmonton.
Allison practices in a variety of areas, including labour, employment, and immigration. She has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refuge Board of Canada.
Allison joined Chivers Carpenter as an associate in 2020.
