James Diebert
James currently practices labour, employment, and human rights law. James received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alberta.
Prior to law school, James received a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) with a double major in English and Political Science, also from the University of Alberta. During law school, James volunteered extensively with organizations such as Student Legal Services, Civil Claims Duty Counsel, the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, and more. In James’ third-year of law school, he was hired as a Dayleader/Volunteer Supervisor by Student Legal Services’ Civil and Family Law Project, where he assisted low-income members of the Edmonton community with small claims matters and various other legal problems.
James articled and subsequently practiced with a litigation-boutique firm in downtown Edmonton where he practiced largely in civil and commercial litigation, which helped him develop his advocacy skills.
James joined Chivers Carpenter as an associate in 2022.
