Jacob Holloway
Jacob graduated from the University of Alberta with a Juris Doctor in 2024. During his time in law school, Jacob served as the co-president and treasurer of OUTlaw, helping to raise more than $17,000 for the Trans ID Clinic within Student Legal Services. Jacob acted as the coordinator for the Legal Education & Reform Project within Student Legal Services as well , wherein he authored and presented a report and recommendations to Edmonton City Council concerning the creation of a landlord licensing scheme and rental property registry in Edmonton. Jacob also competed in and won the 2023 Mathews Dinsdale National Labour Arbitration Competition with the assistance of former Chivers Carpenter partners David Williams and (Justice) Kristan McLeod – arguing on behalf of the union, of course.
Jacob joined Chivers Carpenter as an articling student in 2024 and became an associate at the firm in 2025. His areas of practice include labour, employment, and human rights law.
Prior to law school, Jacob earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) with Distinction from the University of Alberta and spent several years performing in and touring professional theatrical productions throughout western Canada. To this day, you are likely to find him on a stage somewhere if he is not spending quality time with his husband and dog.
