Kelly Nychka

Kelly is a partner at the law firm Chivers Carpenter Lawyers where she advises and represents unions and associations on all labour relations matters before labour relation board, arbitrators, and the Courts. She has participated in numerous arbitration hearings and matters before the Labour Relations Board and the Alberta Human Rights Tribunals and appeared before all levels of court in Alberta.
Kelly joined Chivers Carpenter in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, she was called to the bar in 2009 and practiced employment law at a mid-sized Edmonton law firm and labour law as in-house counsel in the public sector.
Kelly has taught labour law at the University of Alberta Law School since 2021. She is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and the Alberta Association of Parliamentarians. Kelly has served on the Board of Directors for Women in Law Leadership since 2014.
Kelly’s interests include running, hiking, travelling, and enjoying Edmonton’s River valley.
